If you missed out on the opportunity to pick up the Mega Man Anniversary Collection for the PS2 several years back then you may welcome the news that Capcom is releasing the first entry in the Mega Man Complete Works series on the Playstation Network this week for $5.99.
What makes this doubly attractive to me, despite owning the collection, is the chance to play them on the go via download to the PSP. The ability to do this has been a game changer for me as I just get a heck of a lot more time on the go to play than in front of my console these days and I’m always kind of amazed at how new the experience feels when I can take a favorite game with me wherever I might go.
Anyhow, more on the series from Capcom’s blog:
In Japan, Mega Man 1-6 were released on PlayStation 1 as part of the Rockman Complete Works series. Each game got its own disc release with an original port of the game, as well as an additional navi mode that helped players navigate through the stages of each game. There were also a few other changes, such as HUD enhancements.
Though, to avoid confusion, note that this is only the 1st Mega Man title in the complete works series and not the entire six. The remaining titles will presumably be released in the months to come.
